EOT (Electric Overhead Traveling) crane is one of the types of overhead cranes, which is also called as bridge cranes. EOT cranes operate on electricity. It needs an operator or pendant station to control the functions of the EOT crane.

Under Running EOT Cranes
- The running cranes are supported by the roof structure. The cranes run on the bottom flange of runway girders. One of the benefits of under running configuration is a very small trolley dimension utilizes the maximum building width and height. We can use the existing ceiling girder for protecting the crane track.
Top Running EOT Cranes
- A girder is the main horizontal support beam of the structure. It supports the smaller beams. It has a fixed rail or track system which is installed on the top of the runway beam. Top running configuration doesn’t have any limiting for capacity range. It can handle small as well as huge load.

The two types of Double Girder EOT Crane segmented as top running and under running. Both types have their own strengths. In top running double girder crane with greatest hook height will provide more overhead room while under running at the bottom of the runway girders with roof structure can approach even smaller dimension of the building height and width.
